It is the unique product of Mysore, obtained from Western Ghats of Karnataka. Since, it is a restricted product, it is prepared only by the Forest department of Karnataka. It is obtained from stem and roots of sandalwood tree which is known for its medicinal qualities hence it is used in most ayurvedic medicines.
